On-Campus Library Database Access

MOrtvedt Library

You are welcome to use all of the PLU library's resources, including article databases, when visiting the PLU campus.

Due to vendor licensing restrictions, we regret that we cannot provide alumni access to library databases from off campus: access is restricted to current students, faculty, and staff.

Database Access through Public Libraries

Many public libraries provide their patrons with  free online access to databases, such as Ebsco and ProQuest.

Interlibrary Loan

PLU Interlibrary Loan services are not available to alumni.

Please inquire at your public library, or any educational institution with which you have current affiliation.

 

Alumni Borrowing

Your PLU ALUMNI ID is your library card. When you first check out a book, our circulation staff will add a barcode to the back of your Lutecard.

Renew PLU books online through your account

Late fines are 25 cents per item, per day. Fines and other charges must be reconciled before additional materials can be borrowed.

Off-Campus Library Database Access

Here are some of the great online resources you used while a student at PLU that have free or low-cost version that you can access 24/7 from anywhere.

You are welcome to use all of the PLU library's resources, including article databases, when visiting the PLU campus.

  • ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)
    Academic and government research in education.
  • Google Scholar
    Provides a search of scholarly literature across many disciplines and sources, including theses, books, abstracts and articles.
  • JSTOR Early Journal Content
    Journal content in JSTOR published prior to 1923 in the United States and prior to 1870 elsewhere freely available to anyone.
  • JSTOR Register & Read
    Experimental program to offer free, read-online access to individual scholars and researchers who register for a MyJSTOR account.
  • Naxos
    Low-cost subscription. Listen online to over 700,000 tracks from Naxos and hundreds of other music labels. Emphasis is on classical music and jazz, with some folk as well.
  • PubMed
    Citations for biomedical literature from MEDLINE, life science journals, and online books.
